Une promenade d'été

This is my first attempt at combining screen-printing with shibori. The purpose of this experiment was to see how the result between the combination of shibori and screen-printing would compare to combining screen-printing with brush-dyeing. Unfortunately due to a mishap when steaming my fabric, the brush-dyed colours changed, resulting in a more orangey-colour, giving the overall feeling of a more oriental-colour tone. This led me to create one look which is a bomber-jacket, which is a more modern and westernised style of clothing and a haori-inspired jacket which is a traditional Japanese robe.

The print and colours are inspired by a summer walk in the Sonian Forest in Belgium.
