Don't Be Inconspicuous
In this project I learnt how to create a repeat pattern for screen-printing. The purpose of the project was to create a fabric for interior design that could be used in the Sweden House model room in Toyosu, Japan. My concept for this project was to create a art nouveau stained-glass inspired motif with bold lines and bold colours. As the minimalist style of interior design is quite popular in Europe, I felt that a bold pop of colour can really brighten up the room and draw one's attention to it immediately. The curtains were later remade into a display Kimono and exhibited at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan.
