Through My Eyes

This three-piece collection is inspired by a trip around Europe taken in February 2017. I was inspired by both the nature; ageing trees spurting new life through lichens and mushrooms, as well as the old buildings evolving through time with chipping paint and rust forming on their surfaces. I decided to create large-scale placement patterns inspired by how the placement of motifs that can be seen on old Japanese Kimonos. The shape of the dresses is simple and also follows the idea of how kimonos are made, using a rectangular piece of fabric, pleated in order to give shape and movement to my garments.
